The order of social media firms' moves is sometimes unpredictable. Facebook decided to integrate livestreaming within its feed instead of creating a separate app. It was an interesting decision because Facebook had to avoid having livestreams take over the notifications tab. That being said, if Facebook didn't notify users about livestreams, then nobody would watch them. Another thing to note is that Facebook didn't put livestreams in Instagram even though Instagram is more of a live experience than Facebook because it uses a reverse chronological timeline while Facebook uses an algorithm. While these moves by Facebook have been suspect, what has not been suspect is Twitter's decision to integrate Periscopes into the feed allowing viewers to watch scopes live without having to be sent to the app or the desktop site. I have been predicting this move for a while. I'm not sure what took the firm this long to do this. The 3 possible reasons for the delay are Twitter was taking time to get it to work technically without any problems, Twitter wanted Periscope to grow on its own to foster a separate community, and Twitter was deciding how to integrate scopes into the feed (such as what the size of the video component would be.) What the reason was doesn't matter too much now. The only question I have is "when will Moments integration come?" I still believe Periscope will have a massively successful 2016. My predictions about the app have been accurate. My predictions about Twitter stock haven't been accurate because I have failed to calculate how slowing growth on Twitter and accelerating growth on Periscope would impact the stock.
